A real-shaped grid: pins cover the town, stop at the coast and skip the next village.

Why town-shaped grids

A square of pins wastes your credits

Other trackers drop the same square wherever the business is. In a coastal town half the pins are out at sea. Out in the country they land in fields and the next village, where nobody’s searching for you anyway.

Sized to the town

The grid follows the town’s real footprint from Ordnance Survey data. A small town gets a tight grid, a city gets a wide one, with pins about half a mile apart.

Nothing in the sea

Coastal pins are checked against the coastline and dropped before we search. You never pay for a search from the middle of the North Sea.

Clipped to the town

Pins in the next village are left out, so your score shows how you do in the town you’re targeting. Want a fixed square instead? Pick a custom grid.

How it works

From a Google Maps link to a heatmap in a few minutes

  1. Paste the Google Maps linkOpen the business on Google Maps, tap Share and paste the link. We find the exact listing, so there’s no picking the wrong one.
  2. Add the searches to track“Electrician”, “emergency plumber”, “dentist”: whatever customers type. We plan the grid for the town and tell you the credits before you start.
  3. Watch the map fill inEach pin turns green, amber or red as the searches come back. Then the schedule runs it weekly, fortnightly or monthly on its own.

Questions

Local rank tracking, explained

What is a local rank tracker?

A local rank tracker shows where a business appears in Google’s map results for a search, from lots of different spots around a town. Google Maps results change street by street, so checking from one place (or from your own office) only tells you part of the story. We drop a grid of pins over the area, run the search from every pin and colour each one by where you rank.

How is this different from other local rank trackers?

Most trackers drop the same square of pins wherever the business is. In a seaside town half of them land in the sea, and in the countryside they land in fields and the next village. Our grids are sized to the town’s real footprint from Ordnance Survey data, clipped to the town itself, and pins in the sea are left out. Every credit you spend is a real search from somewhere customers actually are. If you want a fixed square grid, you can have that too.

What is a credit?

One credit is one Google Maps search from one pin. A town-sized grid is usually 40 to 80 pins, so a scan costs 40 to 80 credits. You see the exact number before you start, and any pin that fails is refunded.

What are SoLV, ARP and ATRP?

Share of Local Voice (SoLV) is the percentage of pins where you’re in the top 3, the spots that get most of the calls. Average Rank Position (ARP) is your average position where you appear in the top 20. Average Total Rank Position (ATRP) counts every pin, scoring “not in the top 20” as 21, so it shows the whole picture.

Does it work anywhere in the UK?

Yes. Town-sized grids work for any town or city in England, Scotland and Wales. Very big cities like London and Leeds are too big for one map, so they get a grid around the business instead, still clipped to the city. Northern Ireland works with custom grids.

Can I send reports to clients?

Yes. Every scan has a private share link you can send to a client. On the Pro and Agency plans the report shows your agency’s name instead of ours.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time, from your account. Your plan runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for. There’s no contract and no setup fee.
